Up and over the Col de Tricot.
Then over the Bionnassay suspension bridge.
We had a stop at the Bellvue Restaurant.
Later we had lunch at the Baraque Forestiere des Arandellys
Three people left before breakfast and completed an epic long day.
The rest of us took a téléphérique up the Brévent and then continued from there.
Our route took us via the Col de Brévent...
...and on to the Refuge du Lac Blanc.
That's Lac Blanc - the blue thing.
In the evening, the sunset views of the Mont Blanc massif can be spectacular.

A short day today. We first watched the police helicopter land by the hut.
We though they had come to arrest illegal campers, but they just fancied some coffee.
On the way down I took a nice photo of the group with Mont Blanc in the background.
Looks good more tightly framed too.
We continued down a succession of ladders.
This is where, earlier, we met an ibex.
We could look down on a fine rock spike.
The ladders where everyone gets their pictures taken.

This was a free day.
Most of the group went up the Aiguille du Midi,
from where you can see much of our last two days walks.
Or, better still, have a good look at the high snows of the Mont Blanc massif.

Sadly, not taken in 2006.
Our last walking day.
Despite the poor weather, we set off hopefully along the bisse....
...and make our way up opposite the Glacier de Trient.
There are good views of the glacier.
The weather is improving.
We reach the Fenêtre d'Arpette.
Charlie prepares for a brief pause at the top.
We all sit for a few minutes.
Then we move down to a more sheltered spot for lunch.
Finally we march down towards Champex to finish our tour.
